Nadine Drouin
Occupational Therapy Intern
Hello, my name is Nadine Drouin, and I am currently completing the final internship of my four-year Occupational Therapy degree at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. Beyond the theoretical requirements of the program, I have gained hands-on experience in a variety of settings, including working with unaccompanied minors seeking asylum in the Netherlands, Geriatric Rehabilitation (GRZ), and community care.
Having recently become a parent to a 15-month-old son, I have gained a deeper appreciation for early development, and I feel especially inspired to expand my learning and experience at Child Development by working with our youngest clients.
I am originally from Canada, and prior to training as an Occupational Therapist, I had a 15-year career as a professional dancer with the National Ballet of Canada and the Dutch National Ballet. Although my new career path is quite different from being a performing artist, I remain passionate about the arts, creativity, and the joy of movement, and I hope to continue weaving these passions into my future work.
I speak English, French, and Dutch, and I am always happy to answer questions or chat so that you and your child feel as comfortable as possible with me being an additional presence during sessions.
I look forward to getting to know you and your child, and to supporting their growth and development together with the team at Child Development.
